Counselling
-
I offer integrative counselling as a Registered Social Worker (RSW). My practice blends evidence-based approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Neural Network Therapy (NNT) and DBT-informed skills with somatic and nervous-system-focused practices. This means we work not only with thoughts and emotions, but also with how stress and trauma are carried in the body.

While traditional talk therapy can be helpful, it often focuses mainly on thoughts and behaviours. My approach is more integrative — blending counselling with body-based practices, polyvagal theory, and somatic awareness. We work with the nervous system as much as the mind, using tools like breathwork, grounding, and mindfulness alongside conversation.
I also take a deeply inclusive, identity-affirming approach. Many clients come to explore questions around gender, sexuality, relationships, and authentic self-expression. Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s collaborative, creative, and shaped around what feels supportive for you.

Yes. I offer both in person counselling in Peterborough, Ontario and secure online sessions for clients across Ontario. Virtual sessions can be just as effective, and allow you to access support from the comfort of your own space.

Many extended health insurance plans cover counselling with a Registered Social Worker (RSW). It’s always best to check with your provider to confirm the details of your coverage.

Your first counselling session is a safe, confidential space to continue to share what brings you here. We’ll begin by reviewing the limits of confidentiality so you know exactly how your privacy is protected. From there, our time will focus on getting to know you more, exploring what you’d like support with, and beginning to collaboratively shape a plan that feels supportive and sustainable for you.
Before booking a full session, I also offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation. This is a chance for us to connect, answer any initial questions you may have, and see if it feels like the right fit before we begin working together.

Clients come with a wide range of experiences and reasons for seeking support. Some are navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, or trauma. Others are moving through big life transitions — changes in work, relationships, family, or health. I also work with people who are exploring questions of identity, including gender, sexuality, and how to live in alignment with their authentic selves.
Many people come simply because they want a safe, supportive space to deepen self-awareness, strengthen coping strategies, and reconnect with rest, balance, and resilience.
Specialized Approaches
-
Being polyvagal informed means I work with the science of the nervous system — helping you understand your patterns of stress, fight-or-flight responses, and pathways back to calm. This framework normalizes your reactions (they’re your body’s way of trying to keep you safe) and offers practical ways to shift into states of connection and regulation.
-
The Medicine of Rest is both a philosophy and a(n) (embodied) practice that guides all of my work. It’s about recognizing rest not as a luxury, but as a powerful medicine that supports healing, balance, and resilience. In counselling, we often explore how your nervous system responds to stress and how rest can become an intentional part of your healing journey.
Whether through counselling, yoga nidra, or guided practices, Medicine of Rest creates space for your body and mind to slow down, regulate, and restore. Many clients find that building a relationship with rest becomes one of the most transformative parts of their work with me.
I also take a deeply inclusive, identity-affirming approach. Many clients come to explore questions around gender, sexuality, relationships, and authentic self-expression. Therapy with me isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s collaborative, creative, and shaped around what feels supportive for you.

Yoga nidra — often called yogic sleep — is an ancient practice from the yoga tradition that guides you into a state between wakefulness and sleep. It’s more than relaxation; it’s a deeply restorative meditative process that allows the body to rest while the mind remains gently aware. Unlike other forms of yoga, it doesn’t involve physical movement. You simply lie down or get comfortable while being guided through awareness of the body, breath, and imagery to invite deep rest.
Rooted in centuries-old wisdom, yoga nidra was traditionally practiced as a pathway to deep inner awareness. It offers a powerful way to calm the nervous system, release tension, and access the body’s innate capacity to heal. Many clients describe it as an anchor — a space where they can reconnect with stillness, safety, and self-compassion.
-
Somatic practices are body-based approaches that help you reconnect with your physical sensations, breath, and inner awareness. They’re based on the understanding that trauma isn’t only stored in memory, it’s held in the body. When we experience overwhelming events, our nervous system may stay stuck in patterns of protection like fight, flight, or freeze.
Through gentle awareness, grounding, and regulation practices, somatic approaches help the body complete those stress responses and release what’s been held. This might look like slowing down to notice sensations, using breath to create safety, or exploring how emotions show up physically. Over time, this work builds a greater sense of calm, resilience, and connection to yourself — allowing healing to happen not just through talking, but through the body itself.
